Frequently Asked Questions about BEMS
  • What is the difference between being a user of this website and being a member of the Bioelectromagnetics society?
Some functions require you to register for a user account with the web site, but society membership is not required. If you are a member, you can indicate that by logging in and checking the appropriate box on the settings page . You must be a member in good standing to access the directory.

  • I forgot (some or all of) my account information. What do I do?
Go to the reminder page and fill out the information you do know.

  • How can I communicate my preference for email or postal communications from the society office? How do I update my personal information? How do I control how my email address is shared in the directory?
There are appropriate fields for this information on the settings page. A link will appear in the upper left corner of the page when you are logged in to a user account.

  • What is the function of the little blue 'XML' icon?
The 'XML' icon links to an RSS feed of a particular news stream. You can use that address with a dedicated news aggregator and be notified of news and calendar items as they get posted to the BEMS web site. Look here for a list of appropriate software for this purpose.

  • What are appropriate items for the BEMS website news and calendar?
"General News" are society annoucements and news of greater interest to the society membership and anybody with an interest in the science of bioelectromagnetics. "Science News" are contributed or invited annoucements of groundbreaking research results in the recent literature. The Calendar lists all and any events/meetings related to the interest sphere of the society.
